The New Trombone Collective brings out three cd’s. With this box we want to present our ensemble both as it is now and as it wants to be. The titles of these cd’s are NEW, TROMBONE and COLLECTIVE.

NEW TROMBONE COLLECTIVE

These three cd’s are available both separately as in a box. This box is called ‘New Trombone Collective’, and with this box the listener gets to know all the aspects of our ensemble. We show the listener that we’re a very strong COLLECTIVE, consisting of nine individuals, with their one individual thoughts about TROMBONE, who together present something NEW: the NEW TROMBONE COLLECTIVE!

Together with the goal of presenting our ensemble to a big, international audience with this cd box, we also try to stimulate the use of trombone in chamber music with it. We hope to stimulate the trombone as a solo- or chamber music instrument, by showing composers, concert audience and concert halls the enormous possibilities of the trombone.

On this cd we show that the strong collective consists of different personalities, who next to their strong ensemble playing also, very strongly, have their own opinions and preferences about the ‘TROMBONE’. For this production all the trombonists of the ensemble had to decide for themselves which piece they would like to record. In this way all the individuals show their own strength and taste of music. Through the personal touch of everyone this cd became a strongly varying product. Not only there is a variety of styles but also of colors, through all the different strengths on the cd. Therefore this cd will be highly interesting for a very diverse public.

On this cd we especially want to show the strength of our ensemble as a ‘collective’. On the cd will be many different styles and strengths in music, with as only link the ensemble, this means without any special individual features. The repertoire on the cd suits very well the present concert repertoire of the NTC. Therefore the steady audience of the ensemble will be familiar with the pieces and they can recreate the atmosphere of the concert at home. For the people who are still unfamiliar with the ensemble, this cd will be an incredible experience because of the unique sound of the ensemble and the variety in music on the cd. And of course this cd will be very interesting for all our colleague trombone players in- and outside the Netherlands.
